Browse by High-Growth Industry
National High Growth Industries are economically critical, projected to add substantial numbers of new jobs, and are being transformed by technology and innovation. Using the Browse by High Growth Industry option, you can select from any of the 15 industries. In the example that follows, "Biotechnology" is selected from the pull-down menu.
The subsequent screen provides a list of all occupations within the specified high growth industry. The display also displays projected employment statistics from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics

In the table, Projected Growth represents the estimated change in total employment over the projections period (2006-2016). Projected Growth categories are:
- Much faster than average (21% or higher)
- Faster than average (14% to 20%)
- Average (7% to 13%)
- Slower than average (3% to 6%)
- Little or no change (-2% to 2%)
- Decline slowly or moderately (-3% to -9%)
- Decline rapidly (-10% or lower)
Projected Need represents job openings due to growth and net replacement.
Should you not identify your occupation of interest in the selected high growth industry, you can immediately re-select another industry from the accompanying pull-down menu. You can also view O*NET-SOC occupations in any high growth industry by choosing "All Industries" from the pull-down menu.
